Privacy & transparency

Your email address and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), the name you give us, and the optional country, gender and age you choose to add.

When you take a reading: the photo of your spread, your question, the interpretation, and anything you write in the journal.

Technical records of each reading request — which account made it, when, and whether it succeeded — so we can keep the service running and stop abuse.

To read a spread we send the photo and your question to a third-party AI model provider, which returns the interpretation. This is an automated process; no human at Arcana Lens reads your photos or questions in the normal course of running the service. The provider processes the request on our behalf and we do not permit it to use your content to train its models.

Journal entries, notes and custom spreads are stored in our database and are readable only by your own account — this is enforced by the database itself, not just by the app.

Reading photos live in a private storage area. They are served to you through short-lived private links and are not publicly reachable.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Dictation and reading aloud run locally on your own device using your browser's built-in speech features. No audio is uploaded to us.

Automated limits cap how many readings a single account can request in a given period. They exist to protect the service; if you hit one, the app tells you when you can continue.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page: profile, journal entries, notes, photos and custom spreads are removed. We retain only a one-way hash of your email address, which cannot be reversed into an address, so that a later registration can be recognised.
